| Islamic Studies is a vast field of study. It includes Aqeedah or the monotheistic belief system, Ibadaat or worship, Mu'amalaat or dealings, Akhlaq or morals, Seerah or the Prophet's (SAS) life history, and Islamic history in general. It also includes the study of Tafsir or explanation of the Holy Quran, Hadith or the Prophet's (SAS) saying, to name some areas. At GSA and STEMS the students are exposed to all these subjects in a manner that is suitable to their age and level. The focus is on comprehension and implementation. Thus the relevance and applicability in the students' lives will be reinformced. Islamic studies form the core of the curriculum at GSA and STEMS. Thus the principles and practices guide and clarify the concepts of the other subject areas (language, math, science, social studies, health and physical education). |
